These terms are an agreement between you and Avighna Digital Private Limited (“we”, “us”), the maker of Besto. By using the app you agree to them. Our privacy policy explains what happens to your data.

What Besto is

Besto puts a short pause in front of the apps you choose, and offers Focus, Night and Workout sessions and quiet hours. It’s built on peer-reviewed behavioural science, but it isn’t medical or mental-health care, and it doesn’t measure your brain or your attention. Besto and the Besto Score are a friendly summary of how your phone habits are going, not a health measure.

Who can use it

You need to be at least [To confirm: minimum age] to use Besto. In India, you need to be 18 or older.

Your account

An account is optional. If you create one, keep access to your email or sign-in provider safe, and tell us at founders@theattentioncompany.co if you think someone else is using it. You can delete your account in the app at any time (Settings › Account › Delete account).

Subscriptions and free trials

• The pause, sessions and quiet hours need an active subscription. Without one, nothing is paused and your rules stay saved.
• Both the yearly and the monthly plan start with a 3-day free trial, if you’re eligible. If a friend invited you, the yearly plan’s trial is 14 days. Prices are shown in the app and the store, in your local currency, before you buy.
• Payment is charged to your Apple ID when you confirm the purchase or, with a trial, when the trial ends.
• Subscriptions renew automatically unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Renewal is charged within the 24 hours before the period ends.
• Cancel or manage it in your App Store account settings (iPhone Settings › your name › Subscriptions). Deleting the app or your account doesn’t cancel it.
• We send a reminder before a free trial turns into a paid subscription.
• Refunds are handled by Apple under its rules. In the app, Settings › Subscription › Request a refund starts Apple’s refund request.

Invites and rewards

You can share your invite code. A friend who joins with it gets a 14-day free trial on the yearly plan instead of 3 days. When invite rewards are available, you earn one free month for each invited friend whose first payment goes through and isn’t refunded within 14 days, up to 12 free months a year. Each friend and each purchase counts once; inviting yourself or using several accounts doesn’t count, and we may withhold rewards that look like abuse. Rewards have no cash value.

Screen Time and your phone

On iPhone, Besto uses Apple’s Screen Time to pause the apps you choose. You pick the apps, you can keep some never paused, and you can switch Besto off at any time in Settings. Don’t rely on Besto to keep you away from, or give you access to, anything you need for your safety or your work.

Using it fairly

Don’t misuse Besto: no reverse engineering beyond what the law allows, no interfering with our servers, no abusing invites, and no using it to break the law.

Our app and content

We give you a personal, non-transferable licence to use Besto on devices you own or control, under these terms and the store’s rules. Besto, the app and its content belong to us.

Apple App Store

If you got Besto from the App Store: these terms are between you and us, not Apple, and we, not Apple, are responsible for the app, its support and any claims about it. Apple has no obligation to provide maintenance or support. If the app fails to meet a warranty that applies, you may notify Apple, which may refund the purchase price; Apple has no other warranty obligation. We, not Apple, handle any claim that the app infringes someone’s rights. You confirm you’re not in a country under a U.S. embargo or on a U.S. list of prohibited or restricted parties. Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these terms and may enforce them. [To confirm: check against Apple’s minimum EULA terms, or use Apple’s standard EULA instead]

No guarantees

We work hard to keep Besto running, but it’s provided as it is, and we can’t promise it will always be available or work on every phone. [To confirm: disclaimer and limitation of liability, from counsel]

Ending

You can stop using Besto and delete your account at any time. We may suspend accounts that break these terms.

Changes

If we change these terms in a way that matters, we’ll tell you in the app before the change applies.
